Off the Roll: Highlights of a Global Textiles Project

Textiles Photography Project

When we think about museums, we tend to think about the front-facing end. Images of complex exhibitions, fascinating programs, and stern security guards are typically the first things that come to mind. What people traditionally characterize as stuffy, dull places of quiet reflection and learning are, in reality, anything but! Off the Roll offers you a behind-the-scenes window into the world of the museum, a dynamic setting where we, too, find ourselves constantly learning.

Here, learn about the various stages of this Textiles Photography Project and hear from the Collections Team about their roles in this process. You can even watch the work unfold, as in the timelapse video above.
